Benefits

Nigerian Dwarf Milk

MANY USES FOR PRODUCTS AND COOKING

  • Nigerian Dwarf Goats produce the highest quality goats milk of all goats, including dairy goats.
  • Genetically, their milk contains the highest butterfat, milk solids, and protein content - making it perfect for: cheese, soap, yoghurt, ice cream, buttermilk, skin care and lip balm, butter, cream, fudge, and kefir.
  • EASIER TO DIGEST

  • While the fat content of cow and goat milk is similar, the fat globules in goat milk are smaller, making it easier for your body to digest.
  • Only about 2% of goats milk is curd, compared to about 10% in cow milk.
  • Goat milk is also lower in lactose, or milk sugars, than cow milk.
  • FEWER ALLERGENIC PROTEINS & CAUSES LESS INFLAMMATION

  • Most people who are intolerant of cow milk actually lack the ability to digest the protein A1 casein.
  • Cow's milk contains more than 20 different allergens (including A1 casein) that can cause allergic reactions, including inflammation (affecting everything from IBS and leaky gut to acne and autoimmune diseases).
  • Goats milk contains only A2 casein, making it, protein wise, the closest milk to human breast milk.
  • One study suggests that goat milk, when used as the first protein after breast- feeding, is less allergenic for babies than cow milk.
  • HIGH IN CALCIUM AND FATTY ACIDS BUT LOW IN CHOLESTEROL

  • Many consume cow milk for its calcium but goat milk is actually richer in this vital mineral - with about 33% DV vs 28% DV in cow milk.
  • Goat milk has high levels of medium-chain fatty acids - 30-35% vs 15-20% in cow milk.
  • These fatty acids provide an energy boost that isn’t stored in body fat, help lower cholesterol and can even help treat conditions like coronary diseases and intestinal disorders.
  • Goat milk helps increase “good” cholesterol levels while reducing the bad ones - its healing properties are similar to olive oil.
  • IMPROVES YOUR SKIN

  • With high levels of vitamin A, it can improve your complexion, fight acne and improve overall skin health.
  • The lactic acid found in goat milk helps rid your body of dead skin cells and brighten skin tone.
  • Goat milk has a high pH level similar to humans, so it’s absorbed by the skin with less irritation.
  • The fatty acids and triglycerides found in goat milk have moisturising qualities and keep skin soft.
  • HIGH IN CALCIUM AND FATTY ACIDS BUT LOW IN CHOLESTEROL

  • Nutrients like iron, calcium, magnesium and phosphorous are more easily digested and used by the body in goat milk than cow milk.
  • Goat milk may help treat nutritional deficiencies like anaemia and bone demineralisation because of these minerals’ bioavailability,
  • Its high levels of Zinc and Selenium also help prevent neurodegenerative diseases.

    Sales

    Before Buying a Goat:

    GOATS ARE HERD ANIMALS

  • They must have another goat friend!
  • Unless you own goats already we cannot sell our goats separately.
  • We can organise breeding pairs or 2x wethers or a combination of that.
  • YOU MUST HAVE A PIC NUMBER

  • A PIC number is a Property Identification Code which is used in the event of disease control and residue problems
  • We cannot sell you a goat if you do not have a PIC Number! Apply for PIC.
  • NIGERIAN DWARF GOATS ARE STILL QUITE NEW TO AUSTRALIA

  • Breeding and milk stock Doe's range from $2500 - $8000
  • Our intact breeding Bucks range from $1500 - $5000
  • Prices depend on percentage of Doe or Buck and DNA results.
  • If you’re just after a pet, these are called wethers which is a castrated male. They are $500
  • All our Goats come disbudded, vaccinated, DNA tested and registered with the MGBA. They come with all their paperwork along with an info pack and a bag of treats. Not to mention a lifetime support with us and other breeders within Australia!
  • Waiting List

Going on our waiting list is the best way to secure a goat through us. It gives you first choice of kids when born, the choice of disbudding or horns, choice of dam raised or bottle baby and to be able to choose a name for your goat which goes on their paperwork.

  • When buying goats from Kenama Cottage, you will be required to have a PIC number. Apply for PIC.
  • Goats need to have adequate fencing, housing and space.
